Maury County Bass Angler’s
2019 Rules
Rule And Regulations: Interpretation of these rules will be left exclusively to the MCBA Directors. The decision of the Directors will be final in all matters. Infractions of any rule can result in disqualification.
1. Membership dues for the
season (2019) = $40.00 per person
$7.50 of this fee will be
dedicated to a cash award and trophy to the team of the year to be determined
by the team that finishes the regular season with the most points. $32.50 of
this fee will remain in the club account for expenses, repairs of scales , and
overhead as determined by the club treasurer.
2. Tournament Entry Fee per
Team = $60.00 / boat per tournament
Since points will be awarded
to the registered team, an angler fishing without his partner will still be
required to pay the full fee of $60.00 per boat. Should 2 angler from different
teams choose to fish a tournament together the boat fee will be $60.00 with
each angler paying $30.00 each but the points will be divided equally between
the 2 different teams.
$5.00 will be awarded for Big
fish award
$20.00 will be retained for
classic cash
$35.00 will be awarded for
each placing in the tournament for every 7 boats in the tournament .
Example 1-7 boats will pay out 1 place
8-14 boats will
pay out 2 places (65%for 1st,35% for 2nd)
15 or more boats will pay out 3
places(60%,30%,10%)
3. Points System for Team Of
Year: Points will be awarded for each tournament to teams starting at 100
points for 1st., 99 for 2nd, 98 for 3rd, etc.
Should one or multiple teams
not weigh a measuring fish for that tournament, then that team (s) will be
awarded points for participation equal to the last team weighing fish minus 1
point.
Example for 8 boats weighing
fish 8th place team = 93 points. For the 2 teams not weighing fish ,
both teams will receive 92 points.
Those teams that only pay
tournament entry fees and do not participate in the tournament will receive 50
points.
4. Classic Qualification :
Teams must pay full entry fee ($60.00)
for 7 tournaments . Participation is encouraged but not required for
qualification to Classic. A fee of $20.00 will be required for any boat that
only fishes 7 tournament. (the portion of each boats entry fee per tournament
that is set aside for classic awards.)
There will be only a $5.00
big fish fee per boat collected on the
day of the classic. Any teams that missed one tournament during the
season will pay $ 20.00 before classic to satisfy qualification requirements.
2019 Maury County Bass Anglers Rules
1. All contestants must put
in at the official ramp. No trailing will be permitted. Locking through to
another lake is not permitted.
2. All live wells must be
checked by tournament committee prior to start of tournament. Any contestant(s)
arriving after official blast off has occurred must find the tournament
director or member of the tournament committee to have live well checked and
tournament entry fee paid unless pre-paid before starting to fish.
3. If a contestant cannot
return to official weigh in site due to mechanical breakdown, one member of the
team may enter another contestants boat and transport their creel to weigh in
as long as those fish remain separate from the ’taxi’ boats creel. Fish may be
either bagged in a bag or transported in live well in separate compartment with
cull device attached to identify those fish.
4. Should a team or person
fishing alone have to leave the lake before official weigh in time, every
effort should be made to contact tournament director and inform them of that
circumstance. If contact cannot be made via cell phone, text, or email, please leave
a written note on a known vehicle to inform director to prevent needless
efforts to look for that boat after weigh in has completed .
5. Bass length limits will be
based on current state regulations for that species. In the event that there is
no length limit for spotted bass (Kentucky bass) and Largemouth bass a 12 “ minimum length will apply.
All fish will be measured
from tip of nose to tail with mouth closed on a legal board ( Golden Rule will
be standard of measurement)
A fish may be presented to
weigh in for a courtesy measurement but must inform the weigh master prior to
commencing weighing of creel.
Penalty: should any fish in
the bag be deemed shorter than the legal length limit the largest fish in the
creel will be removed from the bag and remaining fish may be weighed for prizes
or awards.
No more than 5 fish may be
weighed per boat for each tournament. A maximum number of only 5 fish may be
transported to weigh in site. Additional fish should be culled prior to return
to ramp.
6. All fish must be taken by
rod and reel only. Trolling is considered illegal for these tournaments.
Artificial baits only. Pork skin type baits as trailers are allowed. No live
baits are allowed.
7. Rigs with multiple lures
may be used but must conform to current state regulations for number of baits
containing hooks in the state where the tournament is located.
8. Late Penalty: All members
must be at the official weigh in site on time to be eligible for cash and
prizes. 1 pound per minute late for 5 minutes will be deducted from the total
creel weight. After 5 minutes, the total creel weight will be disqualified and
the anglers will receive no points for that tournament. Weigh in will begin
fifteen minutes after official end of tournament as noted on schedule. No
second calls for weigh in will be entertained.
9. Dead Fish Penalty: There
will be a ½ pound penalty for each dead fish presented for weigh in deducted
from the total weight. No more than 2 dead fish will be weighed for total
weight.
No Dead Fish will be weighed
for consideration of any cash or prizes for Big Fish Award for the tournament
or for Club Big Fish Award at conclusion of tournament season.
10. All entry fees should be
paid prior to official launch time to be eligible to participate in the
tournament.
Prepayment of tournament
entry fee to tournament director or other designated club officer(s) may occur as well for 7 days prior to
tournament date. Should club member arrive to lake after blast off, that person
must find tournament director or other designated club officer(s) on lake for mandatory live well check and
payment of entry fee before starting to fish. Acceptance of entry fee is at the
tournament directors discretion.
11. No more than two (2)
anglers may fish per boat.
Exception : Another participant in the
tournament may return to weigh in while accompanying his catch but may not
continue to fish while in the “taxi”
boat returning to weigh in.
12. Life Jackets or PFD’s
must be worn any time the outboard motor
is running and the boat is under way ( in gear).
13. Liability Insurance: All anglers must carry current insurance on
boats used during MCBA tournaments. Proof of insurance must be available if
requested by tournament director.
All participants must read and
sign a Registration and Release of Liability statement for MCBC. This will be
done once at the beginning of the season.
14. At the discretion of the
tournament director, the tournament may be cancelled or shortened due to
circumstance that would be deemed unsafe such as weather conditions, high or
dangerous water or wind , etc.
